In order to provide even more secure services, Mica Financial Services Firm is transforming its services and technology infrastructure. Since October, you have probably noticed that the portal login page has changed. We are working to gradually implement new methods that enhance the protection of our environments for the benefit of our clients.
Here is the visual difference between the old login page and the new one.
In order to comply with security best practices and to support the future evolution of the Mica portal, we have changed the look of our login page. Eventually, it will be possible to authenticate with a two-factor login. The new login page design is also better suited for the mobile version, which will be available soon.
Although the visual changes, all the features remain unchanged, so you will be comfortable quickly. If you forget your password or your account is locked, you can click on the “Need help logging in?” line. There you will find links to correct the situation and an additional help section that contains frequently asked questions and tutorials to guide you. This is also where Mica’s technical support contact information will be available.
The addition of the security question and secret answer ensures that we can confirm your identity. You will only be asked for these if we are not sure it is you who wants to log in. The security question will be asked when you reset your password. You will then be prompted to enter the secret answer you provided.
The next time you log into the portal, you will be asked to create a security question and a secret answer. Both fields must be completed before you can continue browsing the portal.
If you have forgotten your User ID, simply click on “Forgot your User ID and Password?” at the bottom of the window. Enter your email address and request a reset of your account. Check your email or junk mail box. You will receive an email for each user account attached to this email address. The user code for authentication will be identified in the message. You will need to complete the password reset of all received accounts in order do log in again.
Before the new Mica Portal authentication page is activated, simply click on the “Forgot your username and password?” button at the bottom of the window and follow the reset procedure. Once you have completed the reset process and are authenticated, you will need to set a security question and secret answer and save the information.
If you did not do this before the reset authentication was activated, the procedure will be a little different:
1. Click “Need help logging in?” in the authentication window.
2. Click on “Forgot your username and password?“.
Follow the password reset procedure. Once you have completed the reset procedure and are authenticated, you must set a security question and secret answer and save the information.
When you want to reset your password, but you have already provided a security question and a secret answer:
On the first page, the customer must enter their personal information (their Mica customer ID, year of birth, and the last three digits of their social security number) and check the reCAPTCHA.
On the second page, the user must enter his email address, create and confirm his password. A new feature is that they must formulate a security question and enter the answer.
In anticipation of the implementation of the new Mica Portal authentication page, the settings window has been modified slightly.
Once logged into the Mica portal, the user must change their security question and secret answer by opening their settings.
When changing the security question and answer, the user must go to the “Security Question” section to confirm their identity by entering their password.
The new settings page now makes it very easy for users to change their user code, which usually consists of letters and numbers.
By clicking on the “Edit” button in the “Login Information” section, a new window will appear and the user must consent to the change, in which case his user code will be modified and future connections will be made with his email address.
It is possible that the option to modify the user code is not available. In this situation, the user can contact the MICA support team for assistance.
In the new settings page, it is still possible for the user to change their communication email address without changing their user code if they have the old format (a code composed of letters and numbers). By clicking on the “Edit” button in the “Email” section, the user will be able to define a new address.
Once the window opens, the user must type in their old email address, enter the new address and confirm it. Once these steps are completed, the user saves the information without checking the box that follows.
If errors are displayed during the backup process, the user can contact the MICA support team.
In the modification window, it is also possible to check the box so that the new email address also becomes the user code to connect to the MICA Portal. This procedure will replace the user code in alphanumeric format with the email address that will be entered.
If errors are displayed during the backup process, the user can contact the MICA support team.
When a user uses their email address as their User ID, the User ID change procedure also changes the email. Therefore, before making the change, the user must ensure that the new address is valid and accessible.
When changing, if the new user code or the email address entered is already used for another user code, an error will be displayed.
In this case, it is recommended that you contact the MICA support team, who will be able to suggest alternatives for changing the user code.
